JUNIOR RED CROSS

“A generous heart, kind speech and a life of service and compassion are the things that renew humanity”.
-Buddha

The Junior Red Cross promotes Good Samaritans, who with their noble thoughts and selfless service radiate boundless love towards the entire world.

‘Our body is a precious temple and a vehicle for awakening”.

The motto of the Junior Red Cross is Health, Friendship and Service.  JRC provides a platform for the students to inspire others through the service rendered and aspire to create a difference and uplift the Society.

The JRC students actively participated in a plethora of activities and grabbed every opportunity to render their whole – hearted service.

An orientation program was conducted on 30/06/2015 for the JRC Counsellors by JRC District Committee at Chengelpet Government School.

A Guest Lecture was organized to mark Doctor’s Day.  Our students had the privilege of listening to the pearls of wisdom of the leading personality in the field of medicine, Dr. Yashodha, the Vice – President of  Indian Medical Association on 6/7/15.  The eminent guest highlighted the role of doctors in the Society.

“The capacity to care gives life its deepest significance.  The purpose of human life is to serve and to show compassion and the will to help others.  Its greatest reward is the new dimension it brings to our lives”.

r7Our committed JRC’s had a golden opportunity to visit MGR Deaf and Dumb School, Ramapuram on 29/7/15.  They interacted well with the inmate and discovered that their own happiness lies in showing unconditional love and care to others.

“Green and clean environment is the need of the hour and the legacy that we leave for the future generations”.

The Investiture Ceremony for the budding JRC’s was held on 12/10/15.  The students pledged to serve others and lead a pure, unselfish life and thereby be a beacon of light to dispel the darkness in human lives.

A smokeless Bhogi campaign was initiated on 11/1/16, to create awareness on the hazards of burning things in the name of celebrations and festivals.  The JRC’s motivated the students to donate generously to the less privileged in society which gives immense satisfaction and happiness, than polluting the environment.

A Blood Donation Camp was conducted on 5/3/16 in collaboration with the Jeevan Blood Bank for the fifth consecutive year and the JRC volunteers actively involved themselves to help the donors and make them comfortable and feel at ease.

The Junior Red Cross students participated enthusiastically in the year round activities in their mission to serve the society and be a source of inspiration and love.  We look forward to surge ahead and scale great heights in the years to come.
