     In the current era of internet, students are drawn more towards the media. The “Mastermind Quiz Club” makes the students turn away from the circuit boxes and focus on books, the treasure of the world.

Quizzing is always an engrossing experience for the participants as well as the audience across age groups. It enhances the knowledge, enlighten the young and curious minds by making it more challenging.

The club camp for the academic year 2017 – 2018 for level VI – VIII was held on 20th July 2017 and for IX – XII on 12th August 2017. The activities were planned to identify students’ talent in Quiz and contribute to personal enrichment.

Students were divided into heterogeneous groups and each group was given a topic to prepare questions and conduct quiz on the day of camp. It created an opportunity for the students to sharpen their quizzing skills. The ambience of the club kindled the curiosity of the students on various topics. Students were highly participative and enthusiastic. It reinforces team work, boosts confidence and strategic thinking. The camp provided a horizontal exposure on various genres and created a platform for the students to participate in various interschool competitions and win prizes in the field of quizzing.

“You can teach a student a lesson for a day, but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives”.

என்ற புரட்சிக் கவியின் வாக்கிற்கிணங்க தமிழ் நாட்டவர்க்கன்றி, மேலை நாட்டவர்க்கும் தமிழ் மீது தீராக்காதல் உண்டு  என்பதை மெய்மையாக்கிட, செந்தமிழை செம்மையுறக் கற்று தமிழினம் தழைக்க நற்றொண்டாற்றியவர் வீரமாமுனிவர்.  அவரின் சீர்மையைப் பறைசாற்ற அமைந்ததே எம் பள்ளி தமிழ் மன்றம்

2017 – 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான மன்ற நிகழ்வுகள் 29.07.2017 –ஆம் நாளன்று (VI – VIII) வகுப்புகளுக்கும், 12.08.2017 –ஆம் நாளன்று (IX – XII) வகுப்புகளுக்கும் நடைபெற்றது. காலை 9 மணி முதல் மதியம் 3 மணி வரை நடைபெற்றது. தமிழ் மொழியின் சிறப்புகளை விளக்கும் வகையில் திரு. ஞானபாலன் அவர்களால் சிறப்புரை வழங்கப்பட்டது. நிகழ்சிகளை காணொளி காட்சி மூலம் கண்டு வர்ணித்துக் கூறவும் வசனங்களைப் பேசி தனியாக நடித்திடவும்  கதாபாத்திரத்திற்கேற்ப பேசியும், குழுவாக நடித்தும் தங்கள் திறன்களை வெளிப்படுத்தினர். மன்ற நாளில் மன்ற நோக்கம் நிறைவேறியதை நன்கு உணர முடிந்ததோடு போதிய காலமின்மையும் உணரப்பட்டது. பிற்பகலில் நீதியையும் நகைச்சுவையையும் எடுத்தியம்பும் தெனாலி ராமன் கதைகளைக் குறும்படமாகவும், தாயின் சிறப்பினை உணர்த்தும் வகையில் ‘அம்மாக்கணக்கு’ என்ற படமும் மாணவர்க்கு காண்பிக்கப்பட்டது.  மன்ற நாட்கள் மாணவரிடையே மன நிறைவையும் மகிழ்வையும்  அளித்தது.

10Clubs are a terrific way to grow and thrive in a community with like-minded people. The N.S.N Group of schools organized a club day camp for the academic clubs on 19th July 2017 for classes 6-8 and on 12th August 2017 for classes 9-12. The objectives of the Tagore English Club is to improve teamwork and build self- confidence in the students and to motivate them to enrich their vocabulary. The activities at the camp were handled by the English teachers.

All participants, Presidents and Secretaries of the club in the school, had gathered in the AV Room. The camp began with the inspiring speech of  Mrs. Babitha Chopra, a eminent writer whose words helped them to raise their aspirations and attitudes to learning. From there, they were taken to the respective venues for the activities that were planned for them. The secondary school provided a wide range of activities as well as the opportunity for students to learn in a relaxed environment. The activities were effective as there was a perfect plan with high standards. With dozens of students inspired, there was something for everyone in the camp. The highlight of the camp was the Treasure Hunt activity. Though many students were initially hesitant and sceptical about the activities, the day ended for them with an insightful experience.

 

SCI

The Science club is a successful approach to integrate high quality, hands-on experience with a deep commitment. The N.S.N Group of schools organized a club day camp for the Academic Clubs on 19th July 2017 for classes 6-8 and on 12th August 2017 for classes 9-12. The activities at the camp were handled by the Science teachers.

All participants, President and Secretaries of the club, had gathered in the school auditorium. To start with, an informative and amusing presentation was given to the students of classes 6-12 by Mr.Mahesh, an eminent personality, and they were involved in a question and answer session to inculcate a scientific temper in them. The students were then guided to the respective venue for the activities that were planned for them. The students seemed to involve themselves with high spirit and bubbling enthusiasm, in all the activities and they also shared their learning with each other. The activities were planned efficiently considering the needs and to quench the scientific thirst of the students. The children thoroughly enjoyed the Bottle Garden and physical experiment activities. The students gained a variety of knowledge on scientific experiments and went back feeling content.

MATH

The purpose of the Ramanujan Math Club is to develop student’s level of Math skills and knowledge. This is accomplished by using games, activities and competitions. Students work together to complete Logic and Maths puzzles. Math club supports classroom learning and enriches their skills with higher order thinking.

The aim of teaching and learning Mathematics is to encourage and enable students to

  • Recognise that Mathematics permeates the world around us.
  • Appreciate the usefulness, power and beauty of Mathematics.
  • Use appropriate mathematical concepts and skills to solve problems in both familiar and unfamiliar situations, including those in real-life contexts.
  • To understand there are many paths to a correct answer.

 This year the Ramanujan Math club conducted a club camp on two different days  for classes VI-VIII and for classes IX & X on July 29th2017and August 12th2017 respectively.

The various activities conducted in the camp portrayed the best ways to widen the logical thinking in the students. The activities were planned in a way that it can influence students to like math and explore their hidden potential in math. The activities also provided opportunities to discover paths that introduce creative and innovative methods to solve a problem.

Students actively engaged themselves in the activities. They were able to interpret the mathematical model such as formulae, graphs and tables.

Ramanujan Math club conducted various competitions for the students in different categories enabling them to enhance their potential in Mathematics.

Computers accelerate the development of science and technology all over the world. Computers find their use in many places from home to the moon. It is essential to learn about computers.

Computers are absolutely vital in today’s global atmosphere and technology plays a pivotal role with each passing day, thanks to the boom in internet.

This year we conducted the Charles Babbage Computer Club camp on two different days for classes VI-VIII and for classes IX &X on July 29th and August 12th respectively.

The Core objective of the club is to enable the students to understand and apply the underlying principles of computer science to a variety of domains and to create awareness of the usage of various applications with different software.

The activities conducted in the camp are:

  • Class VI-VIII :
  1. Game Development
  2. Short film Making
  • Class IX-X :
  1. Short animated clips
  2. Logo Reasoning
  3. Cloud Sharing
  4. Video clips for top 10 personality in the IT field.

For level 1 there was a discussion about the software used for different applications. Scratch and green foot are the software used to develop games and it was also explained how to create short films using Windows Movie Maker.

For level II the achievements of famous personalities in the IT field like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Larry Page etc was discussed. The students were taught  how to create animations using Macromedia Flash.

In the afternoon session a movie titled “Shrek” was screened for level I and “Robot I” for level II.

The Students reinforced their compute skill by doing various projects. These projects build and strengthen their capabilities. They are able to apply the tools based on themes. These activities provide hands on experience of tools which have been learnt theoretically.
