I SERVE’

 

 The Junior Red Cross is the student’s wing of the Red Cross Society. It is a students’ movement organized within schools. Students who are actively involved in Junior Red Cross activities are known as ‘Juniors’.

The junior programs organized by the school helped students to implement the Fundamental Principles of JRC.

 Activities:

  • 24/06/2019 – Juniors were introduced to the JRC motto and briefed about the Annual activities with Prayer song and Pledge.
  • 01/07/2019 – Orientation on JRC, Prayer song was practiced. JRC rules and principles were taught.
  • 05/07/2019 – For service to my school activity, Juniors cleaned the school library and P.T. room by arranging the books and equipments.
  • 15/07/2019 – Video on “KADAMAI” was shown to instill values such as responsibilities towards conservation of resources, service to people in need etc.
  • 19/08/2019 – Guest Lecture on Health and Hygiene by Dr.Tamizhesai Balavadivel, Sr.Lecturer, Tagore Dental College.
  • On 20/08/2019 – Assembly Presentation on Friendship. A true friend is someone who has your back when things go wrong in your life. A true friend is someone who keeps their promises, and makes you want to keep yours, too. A true friend is someone who neither leads nor follows, but walks with you.
  • On 22/08/2019 – “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”, Temple Cleaning at Om Sri Skandhashramam Temple.
  • 09/09/2019 – Investiture Ceremony for JRC.
  • 12/10/2019 – Campaign for Smokeless Diwali to inform how maximum pollution is caused due to firecrackers. The toxin released from firecrackersmakes it difficult to breathe and even cause many respiratory diseases.
  • On 24/10/2019 – Juniors volunteered at the Eye camp organized by the school.

 

  • 19/11/2019 – “Know road safety, No injury. No road safety, Know injury”. A Road safety campaign was done by the Juniors in front of the school gate.
  • 10/01/2020 – Campaign on “Smokeless Bhogi” to keep our atmosphere clean and pollution free on.
  • 27/01/2020 – First aid training. First aidis an important tool in quickly responding to accidents to ensure that injuries can be efficiently and promptly dealt with before a trained medical professional arrives to administer more specialized treatment.
  • 03/02/2020 – Campaign against plastic in the neighborhood as ‘Plastic bags’ is a plague to the oceans and environment. Let’s learn good practices to fight against this pollution. Let’s take action and mobilize our communities to come together and say “No to plastic bags”.
  • 06/02/2020 – Visit to Ganesa Sankari Old Age Home, where they spent time with old people. Children posed rib-tickling riddles, sang and danced and brought smiles on the wrinkled face they blessed these Juniors with lots of love.
  • 05/02/2020 – Annual day practice was initiated on the motto of JRC “SERVICE TO PEOPLE”.

Overall the Juniors gained a great experience through the activities and learnt the joy of Giving, Serving and Sharing.

ANNUAL REPORT 2018-2019

The main objective of JRC is to promote health, service to the sick and suffering, national and international friendliness.

FUNCTIONING:

JRC activities are formulated based on its principles of health, service and friendship. The programs are chalked out in such a way to suit occasions, locations and social requirements.

ACTIVITIES:

  • 6.2018: Students were introduced to JRC motto and briefed about the Annual activities. Prayer song and Pledge were taught.
  • 7.2018: Orientation on JRC, Prayer song was practiced; JRC rules and seven principles were taught.
  • Regular cleaning activities were done by the JRC students at various places on various dates, like visit to Kandhashramam for Temple cleaning.

 

  • 9.7.2018: For ‘Service to my school’ activity, students cleaned the school library and helped in arranging the books.

 

  • 3.9.2018: A video on “Kadamai” was shown, to instill values such as responsibility towards conservation of resources, service to people in need etc.
  • 8.10.18: Students volunteered at the Dental and Eye Camp organized in the school campus.

 

  • 5.11.2018: Students visited “Arunodayam”, a home for mentally challenged where they shared their time as well as learnt to do small scale paper crafts along with the members of the home. Feedback from students stated that they are blessed to have this beautiful life.

 

  • 3.12.2018: Campaign for plastic free school zone was done by students.

 

Students actively participated in the Movement by making awareness charts and conducting campaigns, like smokeless Diwali (17.10.2018), smokeless Bhogi (7.1.2019), etc.

Conclusion:
              Overall it was a soulful experience gained through the various purposeful JRC activities. The activities provided opportunities for students to experience the joy of giving, sharing and serving others.

ANNUAL REPORT OF JRC – 2017-2018

The aim of JRC is to harness the youths energy and idealism and provide opportunities to engage into humanitarian action and leadership roles. The students of JRC determined to be a trailblazer for human suffering, protect life and dignity of the public. We also aimed to protect the life and promoting community health.
The main motto of J.R.C is to encourage the students to take active interest of well-beings of others. This helps them to ameliorate their skills to carry out various activities organized by the school with pride, dedication and compassion .The students are trained be a torchbearer and proactive. The fire of passion in them to help the needy people with kindness, patience and compassion.
• Promotion of potentialities of the Youth to enable them to render skilled philanthropic service toned up by a sense of self-sacrifice, for the mitigation of suffering of the needy and the distressed
• Promotion of health, hygiene and sanitation and cognate subjects among the members of the community for prevention of diseases and mitigation of suffering
• Promotion of motivations among the juniors for fostering friendship and fraternity at the national and international level
• Promotion of qualities of leadership and traits of personality among the youth
• Promotion of training in various skills to render qualified service to the needy
• Promotion of factors which may contribute to the establishment of peace at the national and international level
The objectives of Junior Red Cross shall be to Motivate and train the ‘Zealous’ juniors in the Fundamental principles of the Red Cross so that they may remain imperturbable, unwearyingly, unfaltering and develop in them the elements of quiet self-sacrifice when disasters strike humanity.
THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THE FOLLOWING AREA:
• On the day of Independence day, 07thJuly 2017 J.R.C. students had performed a skit presentation on freedom fighters in the assembly. This proved to be very effective to inspire and inculcate the patriotic feelings from the students.
• On 21th July 2017 J.R.C. investiture ceremony was inaugurated and elected the new members who took their oaths to play the roles sincerely and with dedication. They promised to live a value based life by serving the society.
• To carry forward the spirits of doing good to the society the students J.R.C. students visited the MGR deaf and dumb school in Ramapuram on 28th July 2017 and they also learned how to accept challenges in life with courage and conviction
• As an awareness program about pollution and safety to the public on 16th October 2017 a campaign was carried out by the J.R.C. students in and around the school campus to celebrate safe and smokeless Dewali.

 

CONCLUSION:
It was very splendid to spend these days in J.R.C. to share our ideas and dreams to build a nation with humanity. We feel eternal satisfaction to help the poor and needy. Let us all try our best to become a better human being and work for the betterment of our society.
