MY PLEASURE ON TREKKING

My love for travelling didn’t stop me from initiating myself for the trek. I would say that, this was my first trek, especially to the ‘GREAT HIMALAYAS’.

I went for the trek with all my school mates and respectable teachers.  On the very first day, though we didn’t have any idea about how the places are going to be, we made the day more joyous.

As we reached the base camp, we packed our bags with necessary items and started our journey to the top. Our way to the first and second camp  was a sloppy hill.   We were treated by the organizers with food, water and a perfect place to stay in. In the evenings, we all gathered together around the fire woods and sang. We also danced and laughed our hearts out. Each and every morning we woke up with full enthusiasm and we were also guided by a beautiful dog (mothi), all the way till the 12,500 ft chandrakhani top.  One particular morning, we enjoyed the rain. Enjoying the God created green mountains, we reached the third camp. We were again taken for some adventure activities.

The very next day, with all new loving friends we started for the Chandrakhani top. I would proudly say I was the first to reach the top along with a friend of mine.  We were filled with joy and happiness on seeing the snow. We all were high on adventure, danger, joy and enthusiasm. We started sliding in the snow. I was the happiest person there.

I thanked all who have supported me and I also thanked God in the sun baked and snow capped mountains. I opened my eyes to view one of the greatest peak of  the Himalayas. I came back with happy memories.

Many people think that trekking, hiking or mountaineering is a tough job. Yes I do agree as even I felt the same. I was forced to go on a trekking, a year ago, but after following a long trail and the whispering sounds of the forest, I forgot all the problems I was into and fell in love with it. I can still remember it and I am eagerly waiting to go for another trekking. We reached a pond where we swam. I was never good at swimming and have never even reached 9 feet in the pool, but now I was at the depth of 15 feet. I climbed a cliff and jumped into the pond, then came back home. We came through eucalyptus trees, many cattle and more and felt like I was on the top of the world. I liked to watch survival shows on television, but never experienced it myself. Being a fan of Bear Grylls, I am willing to go on mountaineering whenever I get a chance. Nobody will know the joy of mountaineering unless they experience it themselves. People must stop thinking that it is waste of time and consider it as a relaxation time.
