On a pleasant evening, after a long journey, I reached Royapettah to participate in a prize distribution ceremony conducted by AGTI. I had a warm welcome there and the member and EFI, founder of Mr. Arun Krishnamurthy was also invited to create awareness about the lakes in Chennai. First, they showed a short video for us to know about their workings and then played a documentary film on the lakes of Chennai. They depicted the pathetic conditions of the lakes and the unspoken problems in those lakes. I understood the need to revive those lakes which were once a biodiversity hotspot and habitat for numerous migratory birds which have unfortunately turned as breeding grounds for disease causing parasites. They have already taken the initiative to help those lakes to revive their original condition. I was greatly inspired by their quest to clean those lakes and have decided to join them in their diligent work to build up a clean India, a paradise for mankind to live in.
