Chess is one of my favourite games from my childhood. When I was young, I would watch games played by famous chess players, like Vishwanath Anand. After watching many tournaments, I have developed an interest in this mind – sharpening game. First I have learnt the basics of chess, but it was not enough. I played with my father every day and I would lose. I said to my father that one day, I will definitely win. I practiced every day and I learnt more things about this game from my chess masters and my father. Then I started playing chess tournaments conducted in our area and I won the first place in the year 2015 and 2017. Then I played with my father, and each time we play, he lost. I felt very proud and now, my father is longing for a day when he could win me in chess. Its then I learnt that “Practice makes a man perfect”. And this game is the one which meant a lot to me in my childhood. I will never stop playing this game as I would like to continue to sharpen my brain.

This topic made me to think about the best game that I have ever played, as I used to play many games. The game that I will never forget is my ‘Teacher game’ and ‘Store game’ which I played with my grandpa. Every time when I go to my grandpa’s house, I would play only these games with my grandpa.
I have also played cricket with my father and my grandpa and have broken his medal by my sixer shot. Even though I like my life as it is now, I would like to go back to my childhood. In this era of inventions I am waiting for an invention that would make me go back to those childhood days, which were the – golden days.

A game that meant a lot in my childhood is cricket. My parents loved to watch cricket. But after they came to know about the gambling they hated cricket, but my brother loves to watch and play cricket. When I was studying 2nd standard, world cup was held. India and Srilanka were playing the finals. When I saw Dhoni’s Match winning innings I loved to play and watch cricket. My brother taught me to bat and bowl. I asked my parents to enroll me in cricket coaching, but they refused. So I started learning many skills from my brother. Years passed and it was 2015 world cup held in Australia. Indian struggled and came to semi – finals where they faced Australia. India lost that match. I wish that I should be a part of the Indian team and give my best to win the world cup for the 3rd time. So I requested my parents again to enroll me in cricket coaching. Finally I succeeded in that and now I am playing under -13 matches.

During my childhood I used to run and escape from my mother while she feeds me food. That was a lovely game during my childhood. I would insist her to tell me a story if I have to eat. This often happens. My mother will also run behind me because she loves me and she is very much concerned about me. I really thank God for giving me a boon to have such a loving and caring mom. We both will play catch and catch often. Every day I used to wait for the time for food, only to play. It made me feel happy and made a good bonding between us. But nowadays time has changed and my mom has become old. But her love and concern towards me hasn’t changed. I still cherish those childhood days.

I love my childhood. As I say the word childhood, the image that comes to my mind is the games that I had played in my childhood. I would always play cooking game with small plastic equipments/ vessels. I would call my friends to cook with me and tell my mom to taste it. When I go to village I use to play hide and seek with my brother, mother, father and my friends. We all used to hide behind the bushes, trees and inside the rooms. Other games which I loved to play in my childhood were dressing up dolls everyday and playing with my lovable teddy. The days when I had played with my parents were memorable. If I get a chance to go to my childhood, I will surely go and enjoy those memorable, happy moments.
