At the outset, I want to clarify that I believe in God and his supreme power because I have seen them happen around me. Last year, a good friend of mine was diagnosed with a terminal illness and doctors didn’t know if they could pull off a medical miracle. The distressed family went to Vaishnodevi and Naina devi temples in North India; even went to Siddivinayak to seek blessings to same him.As a concerned friend, I remember scoffing at them. Instead of looking for specialist who could cure Nivan (my friend), his family just went to bow before a deity”! I told my class mates. But that was not entirely true. His parents had already contacted the best of doctors and within 10 months; my friend regained his health. He is still not out of the woods, but better….
Nivan’s parents taught me an important lesson – going to temple is not to expect God to come down and perform magic. It is more about inner peace and your inhernet sanity.
