A JOURNEY ON A RAINY DAY
It was a cool rainy day. The wind blew slowly and gently. I was walking from the market. I was scared. I walked slowly with fear. No vehicle was on the road. So I was frightened. I had to move in the dark. The sounds of the dogs made me feel more scared. Slowly, I saw some vehicles passing by. So, I became little brave. A car came too fast and the water in the puddles splashed on me. I went home slowly. I was so happy that I reached my home safely.

One day when I was going to my house, it started raining heavily. I heard the cars honking. I turned back to see what it was. There was a big traffic jam. Suddenly a tree fell behind me. The water reached till my knees. I thought I will take a stick but I couldn’t find a stick in the water. I reached home at 8.30pm. My dress and slippers were totally wet. My mother looked at me angrily. I smiled at her and went inside and changed my dress. Then I narrated the whole story to my mother. She smiled at me.

One day Jackie wanted to go to Chennai from Delhi .She didn’t know that Chennai was flooded. She arrived at Chennai with joy. She saw the city fully flooded. She wore the army suits. She made a boat and went for the rescue. Finally she prepared food for the people and saved their lives. She then returned to Delhi. After a few days she got a letter. She was filled with wonder to see the letter. It was written “Hello Jackie. I am the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. We are likely to give you an award because you saved many people in Chennai. I thank you once again.” She was very excited to see these words from the Chief Minister. Few days later, she went to receive the Award and she was very happy.

I am interested in helping people. I would like to narrate the incidents that happened in Raja lane. Raja lane is near a big lake. Once Raja lane had been a lake but people built houses there during summer and they suffered during monsoon. But these things are happening because of space limitation. These lake areas are greatly affected during flood. Once there was a call to the society helper’s station to save the people who were drowning in the water. The call was from Raja’s lane. I along with my team took off immediately. As we reached Raja lane, we could see some people shouting, yelling and crying. We took off in top speed to help them. While the other helpers rescued people in a flat, I came to a lonely area in search of people who were stuck in their houses. I saw a huge mango tree. I climbed on it to search for people. Suddenly the mango tree was about to fall. I jumped down fast. But there came another problem. I saw a child sinking in the water. I swam in the water and saved the child. The people of Raja lane asked me to give a speech. I told the people that buildings must not be built in lake areas. If they do so, they will suffer during the flood.

My parents and I went on a trip to Kodaikannal in the month of October. There we first went to a famous and a beautiful water falls. It was raining heavily. The water was splashing on my face and I was enjoying. I thought I won’t get ill and of course I didn’t. We decided to hire a cab and move to our hotel room but there was no cab. We waited and rested under a shed till the rain stopped. The rain had stopped soon and we hired a cab and went to our hotel room and drank some hot coffee. We were really afraid to get out of the room that night due to heavy rain. Next day, we went to a homemade chocolate factory which was on the top of a hill. We bought some chocolates and learnt how it was made. It was raining heavily again as it was rainy season. Somehow we came back to Chennai and planned not to go to Kodaikannal in rainy season.
