About us1

founderNSN Matriculation Higher Secondary School (Nedungayil Sankunni Narayanan) which is managed by the NSN Education Committee, had its origin as a Primary school, which was started in 1968 by Smt. Lalitha Menon to perpetuate the memory of her husband Late Sri NSN Menon. It has since grown into a premier institution in this area imparting education to thousands of students in and around Chromepet.

It is a co-educational school which aims to provide a full, liberal and comprehensive education. The object is to turn out young men and women with a keen sense of discipline, responsibility, initiative, self-reliance, integrity and loyalty.

The growth of the institution has stood the test of time. It may be mentioned with legitimate and pardonable pride that this school is the first private school in Chromepet to attain the status of a Matriculation and Higher Secondary School.

The school celebrated its silver jubilee in the year 1993.  The then Finance Minister Sri V.R. Nedunchezhiyan  inaugurated the function.  The valedictory function was presided over by the then Governor of Tamilnadu, Dr.M.Channa Reddy, on January 1994.

The creditable results at the Annual Board Examination, the commendable performance of our students in the inter-school competitions, both academic and general, their achievements  in Sports, Scouting and Guiding, Junior Red Cross activities, their achievements of students in inter-school competitions, etc  have accentuated the good name established by the institution.

The establishment of our school in this area has also contributed to a large extent in developing this backward area, which has now grown into a township.  From a humble beginning it has grown into a premier institution in this area.

We strive to build a student community which is rooted in culture and values, which is sensitive to the needs of society, which has the strength of character which strives towards excellence, which moves forward confidently overcoming challenges and which helps in building a better India!
