A school is seen as a ‘Temple of Learning’. But it will be an altogether different experience if we can also see it as a “Temple of Transformation.” How we see the school makes all the difference to our schooling! Only transference of knowledge happens within the four walls of the classroom, but life’s lessons are invariably learnt beyond the textbook. What we become after fourteen years of education will be the net result of opportunities used and opportunities missed, which will determine the quality of our adult life. Was it a life well spent, an enriching experience or a life that was wasted in trivial pleasures. Knowing what is right and wrong and not living by it is intellectually impotency. “Success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your life, it’s about what you inspire others to do.”
Vertical expertise alone does not guarantee success. But when combined with Horizontal exposure, it makes growth holistic. Professional success alone will not make life meaningful as much as when it is backed up by with personal growth and maturity.
The basis of leadership and relationship is communication. Ultimately life is all about getting our relationships right; with our family members, amongst our friends, in our work place and everywhere. Establishing good relationship is the biggest challenge in life. It takes only twenty five hours to learn a new skill, but to build and maintain a relationship, it takes a lifetime!
We need to value people and use things. But today it is the reverse. Children value things and use people! When more is given, more will be demanded. They need instant gratification. This may lead to disastrous consequences if left unchecked. So occasions must be created to give the young ones the experience of expressing gratitude.
The single child syndrome is creating a society that does not know to look beyond themselves. There is a dire need to educate them to look beyond, as each of us has an Individual Social Responsibility of reaching out to the deprived and the less fortunate. When you have the power to give someone the best day of his life, do so by any means. Sharing and Caring is a beautiful quality developed in the growing up years; the willingness and the heart to give, and to put the world ahead of us. Simply put, to put the Cause of men above the Cause of man!
A clean and green India is our responsibility. To build the image of our country in the eyes of the world, every citizen has to contribute. Only when responsibility is personalized, you give everything of yourself. The younger generation should be trained to selflessly work for a larger Cause and gradually progress from “Who needs me?” to “What needs me? which will make their life purposeful and meaningful.
Today children spend most of their time either in front of the television or computer, or they are busy playing video games or using their mobile, which has become their sixth finger. There is an imminent danger of children losing out on their health very early in life if they continue to be couch potatoes. A fit and healthy citizen is an asset to the nation. Physical fitness is the key to dynamic intellectual activity. The play arena provides great learning experiences and also fosters leadership qualities.
A tree stands on the strength of its roots. A man stands tall when he is rooted to his values. When Right and Wrong dominates Pain and Pleasure, our actions become right. It is not in conquering the world that you feel complete, but in conquering yourself that you feel complete. There is no better way than sitting in the seat of Silence. No matter how much you achieve, no matter what you accomplish, if there is a spiritual vacuum in your life, your life will be incomplete. Unless we get the man in us right we cannot get our world right.
“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will”. Success and failure in life are like the two sides of the same coin. It is when things go wrong that we need the will and the courage to move on. “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” Resilience is the answer to our challenges. “Never give up and never give in” should be our mantra in life.
“Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school” Realising the need for educating the heart and not just the mind, the school provides expression grounds for all the above attributes to be nurtured in a child. With such a wholesome experience the child will blossom into an adorable, dependable, sensible and responsible individual who will be empowered to pave the way for achieving breakthroughs in life
