KARUNA CLUB

“It shall be the duty of every citizen to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wild life and to have a compassion for living creatures”.

r8The school is a compact world with a vision for tomorrow. Yes! If we want to produce good citizens, every child must be properly moulded with moral values and the significance of Karuna, so as to emerge as a good individual. Therefore for imparting character-building education, the importance of karuna plays a vital role.

At a young age, children must be encouraged to feel love, kindness and affection towards all the creatures, so that these qualities strongly register in their mind.

Thus the main objective of the Karuna Club is to make the future generation responsible, productive citizens who will prove to be useful assets for the nation.

“Compassion is the antitoxin of the soul”

“Where there is compassion even the most poisonous impulses remain relatively harmless”

Our students took part in the Karuna Club’s students training program held at The Children’s Garden Higher Secondary School, Mylapore on 9th July 2015.

r9The IMCTF organization conducted a teacher’s orientation program on 23rd and 24th July 2015 at ValluvarGurukulam, Tambaram. Our teachers Mrs. Bala Ganesh, Mrs. Manjula participated in the program. The Recall camp was held at DG Vaishnava College, Arumbakkam on 31st July 2015. India is the mother of great culture and traditions. It is the birthplace of many great persons. In order to revive the age old tradition of reverence to the teacher or guru, we performed “Guru Vandanam” in our school. The Auspicious day was 10th September 2015, also the month in which we celebrate Teacher’s Day.

The auditorium was filled with positive vibrations, as our students performed guru vandanam with great devotion and respect.

The values that are inculcated in students are universal brotherhood, respect and compassion

“Veganism is a habit, and not a choice”.

We have continuously and vigorously encouraged students to adopt veganism.

Karuna Club Day was celebrated on 8th March 2016 as “ Karunya 2016” with a lot of enthusiasm. Students from classes VI to IX displayed their thoughts and ideas on compassion through charts.

The main attraction was the charts prepared by the students depicting their mother as an embodiment of compassion.

They also created an awareness about veganism by giving the benefits of vegetables and fruits. Various vegetable and fruits were displayed aesthetically.

The noble work of Blue Cross and PETA was depicted through power point presentation and also portrayed in the form of charts.

Students learnt about the virtue of compassion through this presentation.

This is only the beginning. Let us serve endlessly, tirelessly and with selfless intent.
